Country Name

Emirates or The United Arab Emirates.

Location

The United Arab Emirates is located on the east of the Arabian Peninsula in the southwest of Asia, bordered by Oman from the east and Saudi Arabia from the west and south, Iran is the closest country to the north.

It has a common maritime border from the northwest with the State of Qatar and from the west, land, and sea borders with Saudi Arabia.


Capital

Abu Dhabi.

Reason for Naming the country

The UAE is named after the seven emirates formed by the federation: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah. Qatar and Bahrain were supposed to be with them, but they preferred unity to the federation.


Flag

The flag of the United Arab Emirates was adopted by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan on December 2, 1971, on the occasion of the declaration of the UAE as a state flag.

The national flag contains Red, Green, White and Black colors, which symbolize Arab unity. Which is represented in the home famous poetry of the poet Safi al-Din al halla.

Green represents goodness and agriculture, abundant throughout the country, White represents peace, Black represents courage and power, Red represents power and sovereignty.

Language

Arabic is the national language of the United Arab Emirates. The people of the UAE speak the Arabic Gulf dialect.

Also English is a common language and its knowledge is a prerequisite when applying for most jobs in the UAE.




Religion

The official religion of the United Arab Emirates is Islam. Also, there are many religions and other beliefs, and the right to worship is guaranteed to all.

Churches are common in some emirates. The country has large numbers of people who believe in Christianity, Hinduism, and others. The state allows them to perform their religious rites freely in their respective houses of worship. There are some adherents of the Shiite community in the country and they have a large presence in trade, especially agents of international brands.

Government Regime

The system of government in the state is more like a monarchical federal system so that the president and his deputy are elected from the rulers of the seven emirates of the Supreme Council of the Union only.

Climate

The weather is moderate between October and March of each year when the sun is bright and the weather is pleasant (average temperatures during that period are 26° C). The nights are cool (the average night temperature is 15° C). The summer lasts from April to September, when the temperature reaches its peak, sometimes reaching 50° C with a sharp rise in humidity. During the summer, the southern and eastern winds blowing across the UAE are dusty.


The best time to visit the United Arab Emirates is winter, from December to February, which is a pleasant and sunny season, and which allows you to avoid the oppressive heat of the long warm season.
