The Federated States of Micronesia, simply known as Micronesia.
Micronesia is an island country in Oceania associated with the United States.

The collective name for islands of the Pacific Ocean east of the Philippines, including the Mariana, PALAU, Caroline, Marshall, and Kiribati Islands.
Micronesia is from the Greek micro, small + nesos, island, so named because the islands in this group are much smaller than those in MELANESIA.
The flag was adopted on November 30, 1978.
The flag is composed of a light blue background with four white
stars forming a diamond shape set in the center of the design.
The light blue color represents the vastness of the Pacific Ocean
which surrounds the islands.
The four white stars refer to the four states which make up the federation; Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae and Yap.
This shade of blue was inspired by the official flag of the United Nations.
The use of symbolic stars to represent states is similar to the stars found on the official flag of the United States of America.
